At Virgin Carpets, family tradition meets exceptional craftsmanship. Our story begins with Richard Virgin, a visionary and dedicated business owner who served as the CEO of Virgin Carpets and Flooring from 1977 to 2021.

50 Years of Flooring

Rich’s journey in the flooring industry started at a tender age, working under the direction of his father as a flooring laborer. Even at the age of 14, Rich understood work ethic and had a passion for the trade. His early responsibilities included meticulously sewing the seams on carpets and lending a helping hand in moving furniture.

As the years passed, Rich kept honing his skills under the direction of his father. His dedication and commitment did not go unnoticed, and in 1977, his father entrusted him with the ownership of the business.

Virgin Carpets has come a long way since those early days. For years, Rich operated his business out of his garage, where he worked tirelessly to provide quality products and services to his valued customers. Rich had his share of unexpected expenses and other financial challenges, but he never gave up. Over time, the reputation of Virgin Carpets grew, and the demand for their exceptional work grew too.

Thanks to Rich’s dedication and hard work, the business transformed into something truly remarkable. We’re proud to say that we have a partnership with one of the industry’s major suppliers, Shaw Floors. We couldn’t be prouder of how far we’ve come!

Our warehouse in Jefferson Hills PA allows us to offer an even wider range of flooring options, and our recently updated showroom in Pleasant Hills PA showcases our selections of carpet, hardwood, LVT, and ceramic tile. After an amazing journey spanning over four decades, Rich Virgin’s son, Dan Virgin, has taken on the title of vice president. This transition ensures that our commitment to delivering top-notch quality and unwavering customer satisfaction remains firmly in place for generations to come. Meet the team

Rich Virgin

Rich has been in the flooring industry for most of his life, when he started assisting his dad at the young age of 12. At the time it was a small one-man run business with big potential. As Rich developed his craftsmanship, sales skills and passion over time he was able to make Virgin Carpets and Flooring what it is today. His love for local business and family sustain this family owned and operated company. With 50 years of expertise and knowledge behind him, you can feel comfortable in knowing that you made the right choice with Rich and his qualified team.

Mark Thompson

Mark is a flooring veteran and has been Rich’s right-hand-man for almost a decade. He has a passion for flooring that is reflected in his professionalism with each client. Mark handles the majority of Virgin Carpets and Flooring negotiated business, while overseeing the residential installations as well.

Dan Virgin

Dan, like his father, has been around flooring his entire life. While he started his professional career in the engineering world after receiving his degree for Natural and Petroleum Gas engineering at Penn State University, he decided that was not his purpose and wanted to come back to what was familiar… flooring. Dan works on both the commercial and residential fields of business, managing the operational aspects.

Connor Marshman

Connor has over five years of experience in the marketing field, and is your point of contact for all things related to Advertising/PR or Sales here at Virgin Carpets and Flooring.

Tim Siemon

Tim has been with the company for over 15 years. He is a skilled craftsman and a professional flooring installer on both the commercial and residential levels. His precision and attention to detail is unmatched. When it comes to flooring, he is an expert.
